Pastor James Rehder
Pastor Rehder has been the Senior Pastor of Pilgrim since July of 2000. He was born in “Rural Tacoma”, and has lived in Washington most of his life. In his “free time” he enjoys yard work, walking, and reading sports-related books. He and his wife Pamela have two children: Mele and Joshua.
His favorite Scripture verses are Proverbs 3: 5-6 because, “Trusting God with all we are and all we have and leaning on God and other brothers and sisters in Christ will bring much peace and security.”
Little known fact: He was Athlete of the Year at Concordia College in 1970.
Kyle Haugen, Musical Director
Kyle brings twenty years of church music experience and has served congregations in Boston, Minneapolis, and Tacoma. He currently serves at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Washington. He is the assistant director of Northwest Repertory Singers and has recently been named the ensemble's artistic director beginning with the 2018-2019 season. For nearly a decade, Kyle taught with Tacoma Youth Chorus, working with the high school level. He is a published composer whose work has been featured on PBS television nationwide. In 2018, his new melody and choral setting for the Christmas hymn, "Where Shepherds Lately Knelt," by noted Lutheran poet Jaroslav Vajda, will be released by Augsburg Fortress Publishers.
Peggy Polinder, Church Secretary
Peggy was born in Centralia, Washington, and has been the Church Secretary since 1995.
When she's not in the Church Office she enjoys doing floristry and needlework. She also collects movies (mostly musicals). Since the time she was little she's always wanted to be a female detective.
She has 7 children, 17 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
