Scrip Program
What is scrip?
Scrip is “shopping cart fundraising”. Scrip is a popular fundraiser because organizations don’t have to sell anything. Members or an organization produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would make anyway through the purchasing of scrip. When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing gift cards that are then used to make your regular purchase like food, clothing, and other essentials.
Why are we doing scrip?
There are always projects that can or should be done to improve the church and preschool. The scrip program will be on-going for Pilgrim and as one project is completed the church council will determine what project the scrip funds will support next.
How scrip generates revenue.
The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our organization orders scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount and families like yours uses the scrips for purchases at the full face value. The discount from 2% to 15% or more – is how our organization is able to generate revenue.

When are order placed?
We will be placing orders every Monday & Wednesday.
When would I receive my order?
Scrip orders are shipped from Michigan via FedEx ground. We expect, but do not guarantee, orders to arrive on Friday (for orders placed on Monday) and Tuesday (for orders placed on Wednesday). You my pick up your fulfilled orders at the church office during regular business hour or your order will be given to you by a scrip representative at the following Sunday service.
How do I place and order?
You need to fill out one of two types of order forms provided. Preprinted order forms can be found in the Chervenak Celebration Center or you can download them here:
A check made out to Pilgrim Lutheran Church must accompany your order form before your order can be processed. Your completed oder form and check is to be given to a scrip representative or delivered to the church office during regular business hours.
Who are our Scrip representatives?
Nicole Warner is listed with Great Lake Scrips as our coordinator and will take the lead on keeping our scrip program organized. Other members that can answer your questions and process orders are Ruth Ann Shimoi & Peggy Pollinder.
