Many retailers offer reward programs that allow consumers to designate proceeds to local non-profits. An example of that is Kroger, parent company of Fred Meyer.
Our congregation has seven families that shop at Fred Meyer and have asked that Pilgrim be the recipient of their community rewards and in the last quarter we received $45 as a result. While a couple of hundred dollars a year doesn’t seem like a lot, it is money that this retailer donates without the families having to give up any other rebates - or pay any higher costs. Free money to help the mission and ministry of Pilgrim Lutheran Church!
Thanks to those families for their thoughtful stewardship and thanks to Kroger for their generosity.
Check with your local retailers and let us know if you have success that we can share with the congregation.
